ENTERING THE YETI STATE OF MIND THROUGH A POP-UP SHOP EXPERIENCE
YETI Pop-Up Shops — North America
Made for the serious outdoor enthusiasts, YETI Coolers are high-quality and built to tag along for all of life’s wild adventures. When YETI came to PORTER to explore ideas for a pop-up store that would be installed in mall spaces across North America, we arrived at two concepts to help them tell their brand story.
The first direction considered YETI’s colorways and product durability, transforming the signature coolers into the main fixtures. Arranging stacked coolers along the walls by color, the installation would have been eye-catching and a strong deviation from their existing store aesthetic.
To enhance the experience, a segment of white coolers would have acted as a backdrop to screen promotional video content.
More in line with their retail look and feel, our team took another approach by conceptualizing a layout with wood and metal fixtures. Leaving the center of the space open with a clear path to Instagrammable moments, this direction considered pops of color inspired by the product and call to “Find Your YETI State of Mind.”
Making the consumer experience more fun, four outdoor-inspired spaces would have presented opportunities to snap pictures for social media with the hashtag #YETIPOPUP.
Though ultimately neither concepts were executed, our team worked under a tight timeline to create interesting ways for YETI to present their products. We were able to use our creative and strategic thinking to imagine the possibilities.
